I signed up for the free trial for teachers at Adapted Mind. At the end it casually asks you if you would like to invite any friends, if enough sign up you get a year for free. I innocently sent an invite to 3 teachers who are in my grade level. The next day at school I overheard teachers at lunch talking about the "Internet Safety Breach" at our school. Apparently ALL the teachers in the ENTIRE school got an invite to Adaptedmind! What's worse is the e-mails didn't just invite them, but made claims that they were invited by other teachers in the school, not even just me, but other teachers who had NO clue what Adaptedmind was. The e-mail would list another teacher by name and then invite everyone to join. So in ONE day I went from wanting to recommend this program to my principal for adaption to the ENTIRE school not being willing to even look at it because they thought it was a SCAM. It became the laughing stock of the school and I was very embarassed.

Unfortunately to sign up as a teacher you have to use a school address and then they use it to find out the emails of every other person in the school.

I immediately complained to the company and here is their useless response:

"We apologize for the emails. It seems that our marketing team did email the school to let all the teachers know that they have a free year of AdaptedMind.

We understand the multiple email send may have caused some confusion. We can certainly block any marketing emails from being sent to your school.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

AdaptedMind Customer Care"

So they admit SPAMMING my entire school and they respond with an "Oops did I do that?" Oh sure you can "block" the e-mails now, where was that option when I signed up?

Bottom line, the embarrassment and spam is not worth the game folks. This company is irresponsible, sneaky and *** and doesn't deserve our business.

Reason of review: Spam and a very poor business tactic.

Monetary Loss: $6000.

Preferred solution: The program free for my entire school for 2 years. Maybe if its free they will give it a second look..

Adaptedmind Pros: Games, Cute monsters, Fun for kids, Based on individual levels.

Adaptedmind Cons: Spam emails, Cyber info stealing, Identity falsification, Expensive for one teacher, Irresponsible marketing.

Location: San Diego, California

The personnel contacted at Adapted Minds all had extreme accents making it difficult to understand or be understood. Even the upper management were similarly afflicted, when we were able to get to them without being disconnected.

We were told our access info had been hacked first by someone in China, then Germany. Could not get satisfactory confirmation that service was canceled, so I had my credit card cancelled. Everything points to a borderline criminal operation.

If you choose their service, be very careful and safeguard any critical information. I believe them to be untrustworthy.
